Description:

Well-constructed floor, tabletop and hanging exhibit with approximately 95 quality plants in a wide variety of genera including Cattleya, Cymbidium, Dendrobium, Phalaenopsis, Masdevallia, Bulbophyllum, Paphiopedilum, Phragmipedium, and Oncidinae; color flow was fluid with reds graduating to pinks on the left, whites in the center, yellows escalating to oranges on the right, all against a black background; accents exemplified the show theme: “Orchids in the Wine Country”, including a café table, wine racks with bottles, and grapevines around the edge; the back side of the display was an educational exhibit with boards depicting various elements of Orchid culture; this exhibit included the Best in Show Brassia Rex ‘Waiomao Spotless’ FCC/AOS; Best Bulbophyllum, Bulb. falcatum ‘Standing Tall’ AM/AOS, which was also awarded the Best Species and Best Miniature; Best Dendrobium (Den. Kingianum ‘Pink’ x sib’); best Cymbidium (Cym. Electric Ladyland x [Cym. So Bold x Paul Robeson]); Best Vanda (Renanthera Twin Star x Bill Cocker); and Best Cattleya (Cattleya Faikon Ball).
